Mt. Stanserhorn
Mt. Stanserhorn is the first convertible cable car in the world. The type of ticket you have lets you do the Mt. Stanserhorn excursion free of charge today. In order to do this tour, you would head to the Lucerne train station and take any train to Stans (leaving at :10, :27 and :58 of every hour). Upon arrival in Stans you are walking for 8 minutes to catch the cablecar up to Stanserhorn (follow blue signs). You will find a restaurant on top of the mountain and various hiking options for all levels.

Then in the afternoon you can take the train back to Lucerne (leaving at :10, :34 and :40 of every hour). Or you take one of these trains "direction" Lucerne and get off Stanstad from where you have a boat back to Lucerne.
