Ballenberg

In Brienz there are luggage lockers to lock up your bags while you head up to Ballenberg. If the lockers are all taken you can manually store your bags at the station office. However the station office on weekdays is only open from 8:20 until 11:45 AM and then in the afternoon again from 1:20 -5:45 PM. If you get up early you could alternatively travel by lake steamer from Interlaken Ost to Brienz. It leaves at 9:07 AM and 11:07 AM and takes 1 hour 13 minutes. That means that in order for you to arrive during station office hours, you would have to take the first boat. Once you are in Brienz you take the bus to Hofstetten. The bus leaves always at :06 and :36 of every hour and takes approx. 10 - 15 minutes. Please note that the entry to the Freilicht Museum Ballenberg is not included in your ticket.
